LUKE'S TAKING THIS CHALLENGE INDOORS!

27 year old 'A' team attacker, Luke Darkins has been selected to take part in next month's World Indoor Box Championships to be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada (May 14-20).

Led by coach Tom Ryan and stars Casey Powell and Ryan Boyle, the U.S. Team will try to avenge a third place place finish at the first-ever World Indoors, in 2003.

Top-seeded Canada, the reigning world field champions, will look to defend their indoor title.

Ryan has admitted it will be a daunting task facing the Canadians at their gamebut the tryout process was extensive and the U. S. Team is confident it can make a statement among the 8 competing nations.

25 year old midfielder, Joe Darkins started out with Cheadle L. C. as did older brother, Luke. Now based down south the North's loss is definately the South's gain.

This is a fantastic opportunity to represent England in the Indoor Lacrosse World Championships in Halifax. It is the first time England have taken part in the indoor championships so to have assembled a team given the circumstances owes a lot to the organisation of out team Manager Jamie Tasko.

Luke stated "It will be a great experience not only to be learning a variation of the field game but also to be playing with, and against some of the best players in the NLL. This really is new ground for English Lacrosse so expectations are mixed, what ever the outcome for the English indoor team in Halifax I'm sure we will be going to work  hard,  play hard and enjoy the experience"

We, at Cheadle L. C. wish both the Darkins and the rest of the England squad all the best in their endeavours over the next month.
